Former Attorney General Martin Amidu has challenged claims that granting a presidential pardon to the Montie three will be disrespectful to the judiciary.
According to him, if that argument were to hold, then every other pardon granted by the President will constitute a disregard to the courts.

Accra, Aug. 14, GNA - Mrs Linda Ofori-Kwafo, the Executive Director of Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), has asked political parties to incorporate the gaps in anti-corruption legislation in their manifestos.
She said this is necessary because manifestos launched during pre-elections become the main development planning tool that is implemented after elections by the party that forms the government.

The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has released the inflation rate for July 2016 with Consumer Price Inflation (CPI) declining to 16.7 per cent from 18.4 per cent in June 2016.

ACCRA Aug 10 (Reuters) - Ghana's annual consumer price inflation dropped to 16.7 percent in July from 18.4 percent in June as the cedi currency stabilised and food prices fell at the start of the harvest season, the statistics office said on Wednesday.
